We did not set out to sell software. We set out to get our evenings back, and the only way to do that was to build the thing we kept wishing existed at our own front desk.

   We grew up in the motel.

   Behind the desk after school, folding towels, answering the bell. You know the smell of a laundry room at 6am or you do not.

   The night audit ate our evenings.

   Chasing four dollars until midnight. Some nights we just stopped looking, which is worse.

   Our prices sat still.

   Friday cost what Tuesday cost, because nobody had ten spare minutes. Meanwhile the booking sites moved theirs seven times a day.

   So we built it for ourselves.

   Not as a product. As the thing we needed at our own front desk, and we ran the motel on it every single night.

   Then family, then friends.

   Other owners saw it and asked. We said yes slowly, one motel at a time, because a bad night at their desk is our problem too.
